We had a lot of fun this week in class. I love watching them explore and have those light bulb moments. I also love hearing them collaborate and learn from each other. We started out the week by creating our interactive science word wall for properties of objects. Then we circulated through 6 different stations to practice identifying all the properties of objects. We learned a lot of math games to practice numbers 1-5 and identifying those numbers in many different ways.
On Tuesday, we went to the library for our weekly library time. Last week, Mrs. Bamford read a story that talked about feelings. She showed them how you can change your voice to make it sound mad, sad, scared, etc. This week, she taught us how to use the show me app to draw a picture of a feeling and then how to record our voices to sound mad, scared, etc.
On Friday, we celebrated National Play-Doh day. We used play-doh to represent and make numbers. The kids had a blast. We also made police hats since we have been talking about authority figures in our communities and schools. The started calling each other officer and then me Chief Piña. Haha! They crack me up!
We were also excited to learn who our first Superstar will be! We are looking forward to learning more about our friend Violet and to see what all her and Sassy Lassy are up to during her Superstar week.
Have a great weekend and don’t forget about picture day on Thursday!
