What a fast and furious week with a whole lot of fun packed in! We really started off this week with a bang and just kept the good times rolling all the way through.
The graduating seniors came back to parade the halls of CCE where they were once elementary students. It is a great tradition to see all these graduates come and visit their elementary schools before they head off to college. I look forward to seeing your kiddos walk the halls during our the senior walk as graduating seniors!
On Tuesday, we had our annual field day. Coach Bernard, Mrs. Martin, and Mrs. Weir really do an amazing job to have a day of fun for our school! The kids had a blast and then we got to enjoy our cookout with lunch outside.
On Wednesday, the Reptile Guy came and shared a bunch of reptiles. I was amazed with how fearless they were with petting all the turtles, lizards and most of all the snakes! They were so excited to get to observe all these animals.
On Thursday, we focused on kindness and wrote a kind word about each of our friends in our class. Take a look at the paper plate that we wrote on. They loved getting to see all the positive words that their friends had to say about them.
We ended the week with our end of the year party. First, I want to say thank you to Alex L.’s mom and Marvin’s mom. These two ladies have worked so hard this year to organize and plan all our classroom parties and I appreciate it so much. The kids had a great time closing out our year with a late breakfast and minute to wing it games.
We also let all the 1st graders out into the hall to autograph each other’s memory books. It was great to see them all mix and mingle.
We have one more day to go and I look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday! If you are already starting your summer and can’t make it on Tuesday, I hope you have a great summer break! Remember to keep reading and writing and I will see you when you come back as second graders!
Have a great long weekend!
