We’re so “egg-cited”!!!

I am sure you have heard all about the arrival of our 12 chick eggs this week. This is always a fun 1st grade project and we can’t wait to see these eggs hatch. We are keeping a daily log on what is going on inside the eggs and we are excited to go to Callahan’s and learn how we can take care of these chicks once they hatch.

It was a great week after spring break. It sounds like you all had a fun time with family, friends and did a lot of fun things. I was very happy to be back in the classroom too! I want to compliment each and everyone one of your kiddos. They have been so sweet and helpful with me this week. I am very proud of each one of them! Along with the chicks, we also started earning some classroom money this week! It is a great way for them to understand financial responsibility. They earn money by showing up each day but also by doing great work throughout the day. I have also told them that they can earn bonuses for reading each night. If they meet their 5 nights of reading goal they can earn a nickle. They are excited to earn their money and to eventually use it!

Remember we have our field trip on Monday!

I hope you have a great weekend!

Have a Wonderful Spring Break

I can’t believe we are already at Spring Break!!!! I really missed the kiddos last week but I hear they had a really good week. I hope you all have an awesome spring break filled with fun and relaxation. Zane was our superstar this week and the class enjoyed learning more about him. Pinky will be taking a spring break and we will have another superstar when we come back.

Marching Along in 1st Grade!

We had a great week this week. We finished up our research on Abraham Lincoln and George Washington this week. We also discussed goods and services. Be on the look out for some pictures of our learning in seesaw. The kids had so much fun with Mrs. Weir and the rest of the essentials team during the Big Art Day! I am excited to see all the rocks they painted.

Rohan was our Superstar this week. It was fun to learn more about Rohan. Next week, we will learn more about our friend Zane.

Thank you so much for the kinds words and understanding about my surgery next week. I hate to be away from the classroom but I know they will be in great hands.

I hope you all have a great week and a wonderful spring break. We will be starting our chicks project when we return from spring break and the whole 1st grade is really excited about it.
