Fun Filled Short Week

We had a great week! It was great to hear about all the fun you had during your long weekend last weekend.

This week we enjoyed getting ready for the multicultural fair. We learned about foods and clothing from different cultures. We even learned about a few our friend’s ancestors.

We changed out our math workshop tubs today and they were excited to have new math games and activities!

Charlie’s dad came to read as our guest reader today.

Marvin shared his part of the superstar journal this week. It looks like he and Pinky had a lot of fun. We will learn more about our friend Rohan next week.

Have a great weekend!

Feeling the Love

I want to start by saying thank you for the beautiful flowers, the gift card and the yummy chocolates for my birthday. I feel so blessed to have such a great class this year. My birthday is Tuesday so unfortunately won’t get to spend it with the kiddos. I will be in a training but I hope you all enjoy your long weekend!

This week in Science we have been talking about interdependence and needs and wants. One of the ways we discovered interdependence and needs and wants was looking at animal cameras. The kids loved observing these animals from the classroom this week. I told them I would send you the link in case they want to continue the observation. You can click here to see the animals we have been observing this week.

We had a fun and loving week! We had our great Valentine’s Day party on Wednesday. Thank you to our wonderful room moms for helping set this up and thank you to all the parent volunteers who came and helped with the party.

We also had Logan’s mom and dad come and read to us on Friday as our guest readers. We love when parents visit the classroom.

Have a great long weekend and I look forward to seeing all the kiddos on Wednesday.

100 Days Smarter

What a fun week! The 100th day of school is always a fun day! I loved seeing all the old men and women in class for 100th day!

We had our library lesson on the 100th day as well. We got to create a class mural.

We also enjoyed a 100 snack. Thank you to all the parents that donated snack items. The kids loved having a special snack at the end of the day.

We are excited to learn more about our friend Marvin next week when he is the Superstar. Our Superstar this week was Camryn and we enjoyed learning about her!

Loving 1st Grade

Can you believe it is already February! This year is flying by. We are loving each exciting thing 1st grade brings as well as strengthening our friendships that we have made this year.

This week, we learned a lot about maps and together we created a bird’s eye view map of our classroom.

We also continued with our Spanish class. We learned a lot of new songs this week.

We learned a lot about our friend Alex L. this week while he was the superstar and we are excited to learn more about our friend Camryn next week.

Camryn’s mom was our guest reader this week. She read a book about Trolls and Shimmer and Shine.

I hope you all have a great weekend! Start getting those 100 year old outfits together for Wednesday. I will definitely be working on mine this weekend.
