1 week to go!

We had a great week in 1st grade. This time of year is not only busy at home but also at school. We are excited for the upcoming break to have time with friends and family to celebrate the holidays. My whole class has been working so hard and I know they will enjoy a few weeks off.

This week was our last week of German class. We enjoyed our time in German and learned so much!

This week was also hour of code. We went to the computer lab and learned about coding with Mrs. Owen! She always teaches us some cool technology things.

Hannah was our Star of the Week this week and we loved learning more about her. Pinky will be starting his winter break a little early. Since next week is a short week, we will not have another Star of the Week until 2018!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Snow much fun!!!!

Can you believe we saw snow in Austin this week?! The kids were so excited and I know you enjoyed watching your kids experience snow if they haven’t before. It was definitely a first in my house. My kiddos were amazed!

This week we started off with a special holiday show from the Grisham band, orchestra and choir! It was a lot of fun!

We love technology in 1st grade and we visit the computer lab once a week to work on the desktop computers. This week, we learned how to use the 1st grade laptops. We played a shape kahoot game to test our shape skills. They did a great job using a laptop mouse!

We enjoyed getting to know our super star Paige this week! Next week we will learn more about our friend Hannah!

To end out our week, Rohan’s mom came to read as our guest reader. She read The Cafeteria Lady from the Black Lagoon, The Librarian from the Black Lagoon, and The Missing Tooth, a book about friendship. We love guest readers on Fridays!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

It takes a team!

We had another great week! We are so lucky to have many wonderful teachers here at CCE! Not only do we have wonderful art, music, and p.e. teachers as well as a librarian but we also have great teachers that we don’t always get to meet with. Our technology guru Mrs. Owen helped us this week get set up on Google Classroom and complete our first assignment. There were a lot of steps to this process and I was so impressed with how well these firsties did! Even Mrs. Owen was blown away by how smooth it went!

Alessandro’s mom came and read to us today. It is always a treat to have special guest readers. She read The Duckling Gets a Cookie, The Day the Crayons Quit, and Whoopi’s Big Book of Manners.

Pinky the Pineapple has had a great vacation but is ready to go home with a new friend today. We will be learning more about our friend Paige next week. We are very excited!

Have a great weekend!
