Happy Summer

Hello! I hope you all are enjoying your summer! I apologize that I am just now writing this final blog but my summer hit the ground running with birthday parties, professional development, and not to mention moving my classroom. I hope your summer has started off a bit more relaxing and you are enjoying sun, family, reading, and of course fun! The final week of school was a blast. Coach Barnard, Mrs. Martin, and Mrs. Weir knocked it out of the park with field day! The kids were soaked but they had a blast!

The end of year party was so fun. They loved swatting the balloons with fly swatters and I think they all loved the bucket signing and sidewalk chalk. Thank you to Jessica Sullivan and Lisette Castaneda for organizing our final party! I appreciate it more than you know. I also want to thank all of you for the sweet cards, treats, and gifts. It has been my pleasure to be your child’s teacher this year and I will miss them! I am excited to see how much more they grow in 1st grade. I will be emailing you the folder of pictures I have this week as well.

As I mentioned, I have already been to training and learned some great things to implement for next year. I especially loved a class I went to called Flipping the Classroom. They talked about making videos to review things we learned in the classroom that the kids could watch at home and then complete the assignment or challenge I give them in the video. I decided to make my class a video on shape review. I realize that back to school is quite a ways away so if you would like to send me a picture of a shape or another video, that would be great too! I hope you  have an amazing summer and I look forward to seeing you all in August!
