Week Wrap Up

We sure did have another fun busy week in Kindergarten. We started working on fairy tales this week. The kids always love this unit because it lets their creative side come out when we are reading and writing. We also talked a lot about the sky and the different things we observe during the day and night. We also are practicing reading to self. This is a time when each kiddo gets to read books on their level while I get to read with small groups.

Hudson was our Superstar this week and it was a lot of fun getting to know more about him and his family.

Sassy Lassy is heading home with RJ today to visit him and his family. We are excited to learn more about RJ!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Totally Fun Week

The rain definitely gave us some cabin fever the beginning of this week but we had a blast with 80’s day today. We have learned a lot about weather this week. We wrote about the different types of weather and even made a rain cloud in a jar! Today we made wind socks and hung one outside of our classroom. Each kiddo is bringing one home to hang up too.

Next week, we learn all about Hudson while he is the superstar! We are looking forward to hearing all about what he and Sassy Lassy are up to next week.

Have a great weekend!

Full STEAM Ahead

We had such a fun and busy week last week. We worked really hard putting the finishing touches on our STEAM projects and retelling videos. The kids were so proud to show off what they learned at STEAM night. The night was a big success. We continued to talk about weather and learned about snow during language arts. We were busy asking questions and finding answers about snow. We even made our own homemade snow. This is a great sensory project to do at home too. All you need is 3 cups of baking soda and 1/2 c. of white conditioner. Stir the ingredients together and boom, snow! It even felt a little cold.

On Friday, we had a special visitor. Jackson stopped by to see us for our indoor recess time. It was so great to see him. I loved seeing how excited they were when he walked in the door.

Our Superstar last week was Anias! It was great to learn more about him and his family. Sassy Lassy is taking this week off since it is a short week. He will head home with a new friend this weekend.

I hope you all had a great long weekend! See yall tomorrow!

Hello 2017!

Wow! I feel like 2017 snuck up on us! It was so great to see everyone back last week. It sounds like you all had a great holiday from all the good things and stories I’ve been hearing. We have been so busy getting ready for STEAM night tomorrow! We have been building bridges to go along with the book The Three Billy Goats Gruff. I hope you all can make it tomorrow. Here is a sneak peak of what they have been building.

We have our first Superstar of 2017! We are loving getting to know more about Anias this week!
