I cannot believe that we are half way done with the school year. It has been an amazing year so far and I am looking forward to all that we will accomplish during the Spring semester. We had a great 2 weeks. We had one Superstar this month and we really enjoyed getting to know more about Makayla and her family. Sassy Lassy will be visiting more families when we come back in January.
We read a lot of great winter and holiday stories this week and did some great activities with them. We read The Wild Christmas Reindeer, The Grinch, and Snowmen at Night, just to name a few.
Thursday was a very fun day as well. We started the day with our all school sing-a-long. Each grade level got to pick which song they wanted to sing and the Kindergarten kids picked a very fun song! Here is a video of them. Our PE coach from last year, Coach Tighe, came back to keep tradition as Santa during the song Must be Santa. All the kids really loved seeing him and Mrs. Preston return for this special day.
We went to the Mrs. Montgomery’s 5th grade room to watch them perform a holiday skit. The 5th graders did an amazing job and our class really enjoyed visiting them upstairs.
We ended the day with our first holiday party. The kids were very excited for the party all day. Thank you so much to Lisette Castaneda and Jessica Sullivan for all the work that they did to organize this party for our kiddos. I also want to thank each parent that came and volunteered. The kids had a great time and these parties would definitely successful without you.
Thank you so much for all the goodies and special gifts you each gave me. I am very blessed to have such great students with supportive caring parents. I love my class fingerprint frame that the class created. It will be a great memory for me as the kiddos grow and move on past Kindergarten. Thank you also for the generous gift you all gave as a class. I truly appreciate your generosity.
I hope each and everyone of you have a safe and happy holiday! I hope it’s a time of fun, relaxation, family, friends, and joy! I look forward to seeing everyone back in January!
