Our class is really getting into the groove of our schedule, expectations, friendships and so much more. We had a great week filled with a lot of learning and fun!
A few weeks ago, we created the alphabet with our bodies and I finally got the pictures into one big collage. The kids really loved doing this and it was funny to watch how they worked together to see who would be which part of the letter and how they would create the letter.
We learned how to share our work in Writing Workshop. This is a great way to bounce your ideas off your friends but to also ask questions to see if you need to add any other parts to your story. We also worked with heating and cooling. We ate popsicles and even froze some of our own. We also used chocolate chips to see how ice and heat would change them.
We have been talking a lot about community helpers and we had a special treat when Officer Weidright came to talk to us about what a police officer does. He explained his uniform, tools, and even his car that each child had the chance to sit inside! Thank you Officer Weidright for coming and talking to us!
We had our first Superstar of the year! It was great getting to know Violet a little better. We are excited to get to know more about Kyle this week!
The alphabet with bodies looks like so much fun and the idea is brilliant!! The kids are learning while having fun 🙂
