We made it through our first week of Kindergarten! I hope the week was as a great for you as it was for all of us in class. We started making a lot of friends and I am already seeing some cool relationships forming. We did a lot of team building and started establishing our community feeling in our classroom. We created our social contract, which is our class rules that we come up with as a class. We refer to our social contract all year and we can edit it anytime we feel there is a need to. I love that it’s not just a list of rules set by me. We had conversations throughout the week that helped us decide how we all want to be treated in different situations and how we want to handle any disagreements that might come up. They really respond to our rules better when they know that they helped create them. Of course we all have to sign the contract to make it official! That’s the part they love best because I let them pick out of my special scented markers to sign their name. It’s the little things. If you scroll through my blog from last year, you will see that I love adding pictures to give you a glimpse of all the fun and learning we are doing throughout the week. I am excited for this school year and am looking forward to working with you as a team to make each child successful.
