The day after the last day of school is so weird. It’s weirdly quiet in a room that has been buzzing with laughter, learning, and fun all year. I’m always sentimental when I’m here the next day and packing up for my room to get polished and cleaned for the next class of eager Kinders! We had an amazing last week of school and the party was a blast. Thank you to all the volunteers and our room moms for making our parties so fun all year! It has been a true privilege to teach each of your children. They all hold such a place in my heart. I love teaching Kindergarten. It’s a big deal to get kids hooked into school and I feel like each child has really enjoyed their Kindergarten year and I have loved watching all they have accomplished. I am very proud of each one of them and I know you all are proud parents as well.
On Tuesday, we played games. It was really fun to watch them work together as teams to play different games. I also loved that there was some old school games mixed with some new.
On Wednesday we did camping themed activities. We even ate smore croissants and had a camp out lunch in the classroom since the weather wasn’t cooperating! Yum! The Westwood Seniors came and did a Senior walk. It was cool to watch the Kindergartners look at these graduating seniors with amazement. They had a hard time believing that all those “big” kids were once Kindergarten students at CCE just like they are now.
Mrs. Preston had all the Kindergartners make crazy hats and they finally got to wear them on Thursday to lunch. I love how creative they all were.
Thank you all so much for being supportive and involved parents this year. It really does take a team to make this year successful and you all were willing to really work as a team and I couldn’t ask for anything more. I also wanted to thank you for your generosity that you have shown me throughout the year. I am a very blessed teacher with parents and kids like you. Thank you for the generous end of year class gift and any other individual gifts you gave. I hope you all know that I have truly appreciated you all year. I look forward to seeing everyone around the halls next year and I hope you all have a safe and most of all a FUN summer!
